As a realtor specializing in Ward 8, I haven't seen any improvements in housing affordability as a result of Blanket Rezoning. If anything, I have seen the opposite. Blanket Rezoning has given developers a green light to charge top dollar and increase rent. Each Community should have a voice in the planning process. Not every Community can handle more density. As the City’s population continues to grow rapidly over the next decade, purposeful planning is paramount.
There are many strategic ways to address homelessness and ensure more affordable housing while addressing treatment centres. Providing rehabilitation while building community and affordability should be of utmost importance. Especially when focused on low income housing.
Improving Public Transportation routes and times is necessary. By connecting Communities and people to workplaces outside their Communities, we alleviate the need for densification across the board.
Identifying and prioritizing infrastructure upgrades that are needed before putting more pressure on Communities through densification, ensures fiscal responsibility. Purposeful planning respects every citizen and every Community in Calgary. The City of Calgary needs a vision.

Community safety requires more than just law enforcement. It requires a multifaceted approach that includes proactive crime prevention, robust emergency preparedness and response, and fostering a strong, connected community. The City of Calgary needs to invest in neighbourhood watch programs, support our first responders with the resources they need, and create safe public spaces and public transportation that everyone can enjoy. By working together—City Hall, Calgary Police Service/By-Law, Community Associations and Residents—we can build a city where everyone feels secure, knowing their streets and parks are safe and their families are protected.

The City of Calgary needs to implement a fiscally conservative approach to its municipal planning - one that prioritizes prudence and financial responsibility in government operations. We need to ensure the long-term sustainability of The City of Calgary's finances by avoiding excessive debt and maintaining a balanced budget. The cost of living has increased for all Calgarians (from seniors on fixed incomes to individuals, families and students managing their budgets) and every dollar counts. Calgarians work hard for their money and don’t want to see their tax dollars wasted.
I will bring a fiscally conservative approach to City Council: one that focuses on efficient use of taxpayer dollars, minimizing costs, and ensuring funds are directed toward essential services and infrastructure projects that have the highest return on investment.

Effective public transit is not just about efficiency. Fundamentally, it's about providing a safe and secure experience for all users. Safe public transportation requires a multi-faceted strategy with visible security measures, enhanced infrastructure, and community-focused initiatives. This includes deploying a balanced combination of transit officers and community outreach teams, improving design and lighting in and around bus stops and LRT stations. Also, leveraging technology like live and real-time surveillance to respond to incidents is necessary to ensure the safety of all pasesngers.

I've volunteered to provide children and youth with opportunities that they otherwse would not have. Here, I am conducting the National Anthem at a Roughnecks game. A long standing member of the JUNIOR LEAGUE, I've volunteered at homeless shelters like Brenda's House and the Mustard Seed. Blanket Rezoning does not help

In Real Estate as a Realtor specializing in Ward 8, I have not seen any improvements in affordability due to the Blanket Rezoning. If anything, I have seen the opposite. Blanket rezoning has given developers a green light to charge top dollar and increase rent. Low income subsidized housing when strategically planned can create affordability and build community. Blanket rezoning is a bandaid not a solution.

As a school teacher, it is not responsible for a city to remove requirements for public hearings, limit appeal rights and reclassify discretionary uses. Especially when considering crime, transparency, affordability, respecting the public voice and protecting our most vulnerable citizens.

As well as volunteering for youth and the homeless, I have volunteered on The Board of Directors at the Glencoe Club, The Calgary Stampede's Western Legacy Awards Committee and the Community Association of Parkhill / Stanley Park. I also sat on 2 working groups in Ward 8, opposed to City Hall's Blanket Rezoning.

I respectfully acknowledge with gratitude that we are located on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Nations, which include the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai. We also acknowledge the Tsuut’ina and Stoney Nakoda First Nations, in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta as well as the Metis Region 3 and all the other nations that are the home of stories, history, languages, cultures and traditions. We are grateful for the traditional Keepers of Knowledge, Elders still with us and those who have passed. We recognize the land as an act of truth and reconciliation with respect to those whose territory we reside on.

Your support and contributions will be used to purchase marketing materials such as signs, postcards and t-shirts. I have a lawyer overseeing all donations.
